1.  Jianfeng Feng, Fudan University


     Biography:Jianfeng Feng is a Cheung Kong Scholars Distinguished Professor, the chair professor of Shanghai National Centre for Mathematic Sciences, the Dean of Brain-inspired AI Institute in Fudan University, and the dean of Data Science School.  He has been developing new mathematical, statistical and computational theories and methods to meet the challenges raised in Brain Science and mental health researches. Recently, his research interests are mainly in big data analysis, mining for neuroscience and brain diseases and developing brain-inspired algorithms and theory. He was awarded the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award in 2011, as a scientist ‘being of great achievements or potentials’. He has made considerable contributions on modelling single neurons and neuronal networks, machine learning, and causality analysis with publications on JAMA Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, Nature Human Behaviour, Science Advances, Brain, PNAS, PRL, IEEE TPAMI etc. He has proposed and developed nonlinear causality analysis, and successfully applied it to search the roots in depression, schizophrenia and autism, including the successful treatment of depressions. He was invited to deliver 2019 Paykel Lecture at the Cambridge University.


2 Yongmiao Hong, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

     

     Biography:Yongmiao Hong is a Distinguished Research Fellow at Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science and Center for Forecasting Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Distinguished Professor of School of Economics and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) for advancement of science in developing countries, a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Fellow of International Association of Applied Econometrics, and a Senior Fellow of the Rimini Center for Economic Analysis. His research interests include econometric theory, time series econometrics, financial econometrics, statistics and Chinese economy. He has published over 120 articles in mainstream economic, financial and statistical journals such as Annals of Statistics, Biometrika, Econometric Theory, Econometrica, International Economic Review, Journal of American Statistical Association, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Royal Statistical Society (Series B), Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, and Review of Financial Studies. His most recent book is Foundations of Modern Econometrics: A Unified Approach. He has been listed among Most Cited Chinese Researchers in Economics by Elsevier for 7 consecutive years from 2014 to 2020.


3.  Xiaoye Sherry Li, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

    

     Biography:Prof. Xiaoye Sherry Li is currently a Senior Scientist in the Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Prof. Li received her B.S. degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Her research interests include design and optimization of algorithms on parallel machines, high performance algebraic solvers, sparse matrix computations, and mathematical software. She has (co)authored over 120 publications, and contributed to several book chapters.  She was elected as a SIAM Fellow in 2016, and elected to the SIAM Council from 2016-2021. She is now an Associate Editor for ACM Trans. Math. Software and an Editor for International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications.




4.  Ronald Lok Ming Lui, The Chinese University of Hong Kong 

         Biography:Ronald Lok Ming Lui is a Professor in the Math department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is also serving as the Executive Director of the Center for Mathematical Artificial Intelligence (CMAI), under Department of Mathematics and Institute of Mathematical Sciences at CUHK. Ronald got his PhD in Applied Mathematics at UCLA Math department in June, 2008, under the supervision of Prof. Tony F. Chan. Before joining CUHK, he worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar for 2 years at Harvard Math department, hosted by Prof. Shing-Tung Yau. The main focus of his research has been on computational quasi-conformal geometry and their applications to medical imaging, computer vision and computer graphics. The main goal is to develop mathematical theories, models and algorithms to effectively study geometric structures, using quasi-conformal Teichmuller theory as a tool. Over the years, he has been developing computational algorithms for quasiconformal geometry, understanding their theoretical aspects and applying them to real-world applications. He was awarded the Morningside Mathematics (Silver) Medal during the International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians in 2016. In 2018, he was awarded the HKMS Young Scholars Award by the Hong Kong Mathematical Society. In 2019, he was awarded the Vice-Chacellor's Exemplary Teaching Award. 



5.  Feng LuoRutgers University

     


     Biography:Prof. Luo is a distinguished Professor in the mathematics department, Rutgers University. He received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Peking University in 1983, and Ph.D. degree in mathematics from UC San Diego in 1989. His main work is in geometry and topology in dimensions 2,3 and 4. He has also worked on computer graphics and computer networking recently. Prof. Luo has focused on the research of discrete conformal geometry. With collaborators, he has proved the discrete uniformization theorem and established the theory of discrete surface Ricci flow.





6.  Jiawang Nie, University of California, San Diego

   

     Biography:Prof. Jiawang Nie is currently a professor of Mathematics in University of California, San Diego.  He works in the broad area of applied and computational mathematics. His research areas are optimization, convex algebraic geometry, tensor computation, and their applications in data sciences.  He received the Tucker Prize Finalist (2009), NSF Career Award (2009), Informs Optimization Prize for Young Researchers (2014), Chang-Jiang Scholar (2017), SIAM SIAG/Linear Algebra Best Paper Prize (2018), and Feng Kang Prize 2021. He serves in the editor boards for the journals: Journal of Operations Research Society of China, Computational Optimization and Applications, Mathematics of Operations Research, and SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications.




7. Jinqiang Yang,Shanghai University of Finance and Economics

         Biography:Jinqiang Yang, male, born in 1983, Hengshui, Hebei; received a Bachelor of Science degree from Hunan University in 2006, and went abroad to visit Columbia University from 2009 to 2011, and a PhD in Economics from Hunan University in 2011. In 2011, he joined the School of Finance of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. In 2013, he was promoted to associate professor (breaking). In 2014, he was promoted to full professor (breaking) and in 2015 he served as deputy dean of the graduate school. He is currently a full-time professor at the School of Finance of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, a doctoral tutor, director of the securities and futures department, and chief expert of the school's innovation team. At the same time, it is also the first batch of “Changjiang Scholar” young scholars from the Ministry of Education, the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, the winner of the “New Century Excellent Talent Support Program” of the Ministry of Education, the winner of the Huo Yingdong Education Fund, and the first batch of young talents in Shanghai. Science Chinese 2017 Person of the Year. He is also a member of the National Financial System Youth Federation, the vice president of the Young Talents Branch of the Shanghai Outstanding Contribution Experts Association, a researcher at the Shanghai Institute of International Finance and Economics, a researcher at the Shanghai International Financial Center Research Institute, and a Shanghai Key Laboratory of Financial Information Technology. Researcher, Executive Director of the Management and Decision Science Committee of the China Management Modernization Research Association, Member of the Financial Management Professional Committee of the China Management Modernization Research Association, Executive Director of the Youth Work Committee of the China Preferred Law and Economic Mathematics Research Association, China Operations Research Society, Financial Engineering and Finance The Standing Committee of the Risk Management Branch.

In recent years, he has focused on theoretical research on dynamic corporate finance and asset pricing. Published or accepted 68 academic journal articles, including 10 international top finance and economic journal articles (2 Journal of Finance, 3 Journal of Financial Economics, 2 Review of Financial Studies,2 Journal of Economic Theory and 1 PNAS); 58 other internationally renowned journal articles such as Review of Corporate Finance Studies, Journal of Banking & Finance, Eonomic Theory, European Journal of Finance, European Financial Management, Economics Letters and so on. The paper has been selected for the International Top Financial Conference (AFA, WFA, EFA) for many years. Academic achievements have won the Best Chinese Paper Award (TCFA), China Management Young Award, Huo Yingdong University Young Teacher Award, Science Chinese Person of the Year Award, China Finance Museum Third Youth Financial Scholar Award, 12th First Prize of Excellent Papers of China Finance Annual Conference, Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Hunan Province, Special Award of Shenwan Hongyuan Scholarship, Second Prize of Shanghai 14th Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Science, Shanghai 13th Philosophy and Social Sciences The second prize for outstanding achievements, the third academic award of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and the outstanding paper awards of the 19th, 20th and 21st sessions of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.


8.  Jun Zou, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

    

     Biography:Prof. Jun Zou is Choh-Ming Li Chair Professor of Mathematics in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Chairman of Department of Mathematics. Before taking up his current position in Hong Kong, he had worked two years (93-95) in University of California at Los Angeles as a post-doctoral fellow and a CAM Assistant Professor , worked two and a half years (91-93) in Technical University of Munich as a Visiting Assistant Professor and an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow (Germany), and worked two years (89-91) in Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing) as an Assistant Professor.  Prof. Zou’s research interests include numerical solutions of electromagnetic Maxwell systems and interface problems, inverse problems, ill-posed problems, preconditioned iterative methods and domain decomposition methods. Prof. Zou was elected as a Fellow of Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) in 2019.
